Court and Regalia-Inside the Buganda Parliament or Lukiiko. It is during the busy week of independence, and here inside the Lukiiko,the Duke of Kent is giving an address. President Kabaka Yeka is on the throne. To the right of the Duke is Sir Walter Coutts, Uganda’s last British Governor General. The Duchess of Kent is seated left of Kabaka. The royal banner is draped in front of Kabaka, the Kingdom’s court of arms which consisted of a shield, couchant lion and spears. The skins at the bottom are leopard skins, the middle lion skins and the top cheetah skins.
