Ethiopian Famine

Ethiopian Famine

Young, malnutritioned boy during the mega 1984 Ethiopian famine. Infection was ripe in the Ethiopian famine camp and a healthy child (left) had to accompany and look after the sick child with a white name tag. Quite often, the mother with a sick child was in a dilemma when she was forced to bring the sick child as she had no one to leave the healthy child with. Therefore, she had to drag both the healthy and sick children to the famine camp. Unfortunately, the healthy children would often regularly contract diseases there and would frequently die.
