A Ugandan small holder farmer going to work in the field. Ugandan soil is very fertile. Winston Churchill describes Uganda as the ‘Pearl of Africa’, as shown by the beautiful scenery behind the farmer. The small holder is able to sustain with the income from a few coffee trees for cash enough for school fees and uniforms, few chickens, sweet potatoes, cassava growing automatically like a pest and a couple of cows for milk. This was enough to cater for the family and basic needs, leaving no room for any luxuries.
